Cranbrook, BC… On Saturday, September 19, community members had the opportunity to test drive a new Ford vehicle and, at the same time; help raise funds for East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s areas of greatest need.

Denham Ford in Cranbrook is dedicated to supporting their community.  They offer sponsorships for local teams and host fundraisers that benefit local organizations and charities.  “They made this such a successful event for EKFH,” says Patricia Whalen, Assistant Executive Director for EKFH.  “They have supported this community for many years.  Our community would not be the same without them.”

The team at Denham Ford made sure the event had media coverage, newspaper ads, food and fun activities to bring people in.  A wide range of cars were made available for test drives, allowing those visiting the dealership to see everything that Ford has to offer.

The most popular vehicle was by far the F-150.  The lines were stretching across the parking lot while people waited to take a test drive for themselves.  The Ford Escape, the Fusion and C-Max Hybrids were also extremely popular.  Drivers were also surprised by the fuel efficiency and quietness of Ford’s Hybrid line up, or the size and comfort of the Explorer.  Many Ford vehicles had their chance to shine.

The Drive one 4 UR Community program was developed as a fun, engaging way to help communities to raise money to support non-profit organizations. For every valid test-drive completed, Ford Motor Company donated $20 to EKFH.  EKFH was so excited to hear that $1,560 was raised at this year’s event.

Denham Ford hosts the Drive One for your Community event each year, helping different non-profit organizations raise funds.  Be sure to stop by during the next one and take a test drive!

The Drive 4 UR Community event was a huge success and EKFH would like to thank everyone who volunteered and who came out to take a test drive.  We could not have had the results we had without community support.

3rd Party Event Fundraising — whether large or small — can have a big impact. If you are considering organizing an event for EKFH, you can contact ~ Patricia Whalen, Assistant Executive Director at 250-420-2203 or visit www.ekfh.ca.
