The Studio DECADES Spinathon Raises over $16,000 for EKFH Warm Embrace Campaign

April 22, 2024

Local teams and riders sweated in support of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at East Kootenay Regional Hospital last weekend at the DECADES Spinathon event hosted by the Studio. There were four rides during the event, spinning through music from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and 2010s. Pledges, donations, and sponsorships collected for the rides raised over $16,000 towards East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s ongoing campaign to bring a NICU to the East Kootenay.

Two winners split the best costume prize: Amy Ross, who rode all 4 rides with a different costume for each decade, and the Team Preemie Pedalers. The single bike that raised the most funds belonged to Cranbrook Dodge. Lotic Environmental came in with the largest overall donation, sponsoring 7 bikes for the ride.

Sjaane Beatty, owner of The Studio organized the event. EKFH is incredible grateful for all her hard work, and for the generosity, effort, and support from all the riders, donors, and supporters. Executive Director, Brenna Baker, said, “I am so thankful for the community we live in. Everyone continues to amaze me through their generosity. People are so willing to give their time and resources whenever the Foundation puts out the call to help. Thank you a million times over!”
