October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, East Kootenay Regional Hospital will be lit up in pink in support of routine screening, early detection, and improved breast health outcomes across the region. This fall, EKFH is raising $1,000,000 for a state-of-the-art new Mammography Machine for the East Kootenay. This new technology will significantly enhance breast cancer screening and early detection through advanced 3D imaging, providing improved visualization of breast tissue and helping reduce the risk of missed cancers, particularly in dense breast tissue. It will also support faster diagnosis, increase patient capacity, and offer improved comfort for patients.
