Royal Canadian Legion #24 – $10,000 for Endoscopy Clinic

The Royal Canadian Legion Cranbrook District Branch #24 continues to support EKFH and the regional healthcare needs of our community with a $10,000 donation towards the purchase of a colonoscope for the Endoscopy Clinic at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

The generous donation came from the proceeds of the annual Poppy Fund Campaign. The Cranbrook gift is joining those from other Legions in the East Kootenay Zone for a total contribution of $20,000 for the equipment.

“It is wonderful to see how the Legions from the different communities in the East Kootenay region come together to support the purchase of a piece of equipment that will benefit healthcare services in the entire region” said Cassandra Schwarz, EKFH Executive Director.

The Royal Canadian Legion #24 has been generously donating critical funds to health care for over a decade. With this recent gift, East Kootenay Foundation for Health is proud to announce that RCL #24 and the Poppy Fund Campaign has had an impact of over $80,000 in gifts aiding veterans and their families in the East Kootenays.

Without the generosity of the public who continue to support Poppy Fund Campaigns across the nation this support for veterans and the community would not be possible.
