Pink Garden Tea supporting Women in Creston

Submitted by EKFH on 04-07-2014

Creston , BC… When you mention gardening to Creston resident Debbie Graham we’re certain you won’t forget that memorable smile she gives. You see for the past several years Debbie has made it her personal commitment to make a special day in her home garden that becomes a fundraiser to support several women iniatives in the valley.

What was originally planned as a way to support breast cancer patients grew into an important fundraiser a couple of years ago for the East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s digital stereotactic mammography campaign. This year on Saturday, July 19 the day will see proceeds from the annual tea going to support cancer patients and the maternity department at the Creston Hospital. A beautiful painting by Laura Leeder will be part of the Pink Garden Tea silent auction.

“Deb is a gracious host and her genuine desire to help women is admirable,” says Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director.

The Pink Garden Tea couldn’t find a more beautiful surrounding as Deb’s home is turned into an oasis for tea lovers. Adding to the aromas of the varied tea varietals are scrumptious food offering handmade with love by Deb and her committee. This year’s theme is Friendship, Roses and Royal Teas.

Tickets for the Pink Garden Tea are available at Morris Flowers on Main St in Creston or by calling Debbie@ 250-428-7182.
