Rockin in the Rockies make $500 Starlite Gift in support of Breast Health

Submitted by EKFH on 14-12-2012 Cranbrook, BC…   This week EKFH had a wonderful visit from members of the Rockin in the Rockies Car Club.     The group is a non-profit organization made up of individuals with a genuine interest of promoting the construction, restoration, preservation and enjoyment of fine vehicles (antique, classic or modified automobiles). Not all members own an older car but do have an appreciation of an era gone by.   The Club services members in the Cranbrook and surrounding area, with a membership of 40.   The Club promotes its interest through functions and activities some which include: garage tours, cruises, barbeques, participating and supporting other club’s activities in the area along with Friday night dinners and socials.   With all this activity they also maintain a focus on fundraising for charitable causes.   The visit to East Kootenay Foundation for Health included a Starlite gift of $500 to be dedicated to the area of breast health.   While on site, the members also presented an additional $500 gift to the Cranbrook Prostate Support Group. Both donations honour the Club’s make-up of men and women.   Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director shares, “What an absolute honour to receive a gift from the Rockin in the Rockies Car Club and to share in the celebration of making a difference in the journey of someone who will receive a breast or prostate cancer diagnosis. The Club and its members should be so proud of this gift.”   The holiday spirit can bring out the best in people… and in this story it certainly did thanks to the Rockin in the Rockies Car Club.
