2nd Star ($5,000) for Starlite Campaign a BMO Halloween Treat

Submitted by EKFH on 31-10-2014

Cranbrook, BC… The managers and staff at the Cranbrook BMO Bank of Montreal had a little extra fun this Halloween when Mary Quinn, BMO Branch Manager asked EKFH’s Donna Grainger to drop into the branch for a costume filled visit.

The financial institution was decorated to the rafters and treats were available at every service counter. However, the special treat Mary and the BMO team had for EKFH is a $5,000 gift to the Starlite Campaign.

BMO and EKFH have worked together on many projects in the past. This current gift of $5,000 will be one of the Leadership Gifts as part of the soon to be released Intensive Care Capital Campaign. The regional hospital foundation is undertaking a major campaign to purchase critical medical equipment for the new 6-bed intensive care unit at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. The ICU equipment fundraising goal is $1 million.

EKFH has committed to raise funds for the equipment which frees up a portion of Ministry and KERHD funding for the project that will now be used to renovate the old ICU area into which the existing pediatric unit will move.

EKFH will officially launch its new ICU equipment campaign in the weeks ahead. Fundraising for the ICU equipment will also become the focal point for EKFH’s annual holiday fundraiser the Starlite Campaign.

Thank you BMO…. Your leadership gift will become the 2nd star to light the path for others who find themselves in need of the best in intensive care at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

EKFH welcomes the opportunity to present to groups and/or individuals to learn more about the needs of the ICU fundraising campaign. To schedule a presentation, contact Donna Grainger, Executive Director at EKFH – Toll-free: 1-877-489-6481 or phone: 250 489-6481.
