A Warm Embrace Campaign over halfway towards NICU Fundraising Goal

We’re proud to announce that we’ve reached a significant milestone in its A Warm Embrace Campaign, having raised over $1 million since launching last summer.

The funds will go towards a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at East Kootenay Regional Hospital. Currently, all premature babies are airlifted to larger hospitals across BC, most commonly in Kelowna or Vancouver.  This upgrade will allow more premature babies born within the East Kootenay to receive care closer to home.

$1.8 million is required from the Foundation to support the NICU upgrade, as part of a $3.16 million project funding agreement that also includes contributions from the Ministry of Health and East Kootenay Regional Health District.

All donations, large and small, towards A Warm Embrace will make an incredible difference in the lives of our tiniest patients, their families, and the East Kootenay!
