Bedroom’s Auction Hunters helps generate $1,932 for EKFH

Cranbrook, BC… You know him to see him, well except maybe not this Movember with his moustache, but business entrepreneur Joey Hoechsmann is again showing his health care spirit with the Bedroom’s latest gift to East Kootenay Foundation for Health.

Last month Joey and his group of enthusiastic sales team put together a fun evening of Auction Hunters with over $40,000 worth of items up for silent and live auction. The many pieces of furniture and accessories that sold saw a percentage of every dollar raised given to the regional hospital foundation. At the end of the evening a generous gift of $1,932 made its way to the foundation.

These funds are directed to EKFH’s unrestricted fund which allows the foundation’s Board of Directors to determine the area of greatest need. Many times the unrestricted fund is utilized to purchase smaller pieces of medical equipment or patient comforts that normally wouldn’t see any public funding such as larger capital campaigns produce.

The Bedroom Furniture Galleries and the Hoechsmann families continue to provide essential funding for EKFH’s mission to provide funding to assist the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and other community health care facilities in meeting the needs of the region. Over several decades Fred, Gloria, Joey and Christine have assisted in the purchase of equipment for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital’s palliative care and pediatrics units, the emergency department and most recently the digital stereotactic mammography campaign.

Thank you to the Bedroom Furniture Gallery for being a proud supporter of the East Kootenay Foundation for Health.
