Submitted by EKFH on 28-09-2012

Jaffray, BC… With summer days coming to an end, many service clubs are getting back in the swing with their regular meetings. One such club is the Jaffray Sand Creek Lions Club whose meeting on September 26 also featured completing some old business. Lucky for East Kootenay Foundation for Health that agenda item included a generous $500 gift for the A Clear View ~ digital mammography campaign.

“We are so excited to receive such a generous gift from Jaffray and especially another Lions Club. If it is wasn’t for this type of support from all over the East Kootenay the digital mammography campaign would never have reached its goal,” explains Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director .

Anthea Gill, Professional Practice Leader for Interior Health’s EKRH Diagnostic Imaging Department had the pleasure of attending the Lions Club meeting and reports back that being able to address one of many key contributors to the project was a very warming and worthwhile experience.

The Sand Creek Lions Club a part of the success story to bring the best in breast cancer care imaging to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. The equipment order has been released and a notification of timeline delivery is pending from the manufacturer shortly. EKFH thanks all those who made a campaign gift, the ability to triumph was because of you.
