Details: Dr. Kang-Min Zhu, Radiologist, EKRH Medical Director (seated) and Donna Grainger, EKFH Executive Director (standing) complete a tour of the regional hospital’s mammography department for members of the East Kootenay Shrine Club #4 (l-r Steve Gore, Dale Solaczek, Fred Anderson, Doug Pepper, President Dan Leibel, Scott Coxen & Edward Stairs) who are the first service club to make a donation to EKFH’s “A Clear View – a digital mammography campaign”. The EK Shrine Club’s gift of $8,327.65 is a crucial starting step for the $1 million capital campaign.    The Shriners are a not for profit organization. This year Shriners in BC have contributed almost 5.5 million dollars in goods and services to health care in British Columbia.    The BC & Yukon Shriners use specially-equipped buses to provide free transportation for families of children having any of a long list of medical conditions, to the BC Children’s Hospital, BC Women’s Hospital, Sunny Hill Hospital, or to any of the Shriners Hospitals for Children.    The East Kootenay Shrine Club also donates fund to local charities where those funds will address a need that services their local area.     Please join the campaign to make the East Kootenay Regional Hospital a centre of excellence in breast cancer screening and diagnostics; make a donation today at www.ekfh.ca.
