Invermere, BC… Not only is construction continuing on the redevelopment project of the Invermere District Hospital Emergency Department but fundraising efforts to raise $500,000 for medical equipment is as well.

With the fundraising goal in mind, two local organizations are focusing on golf to make their difference to the ER Department’s Together for Everyone Campaign.

On July 6 the Lake Windermere & District Lions Club will host their 7th Annual Charity Golf Day at the Copper Point Golf Course. The event, aptly named “Golf Carts for Crash Carts”, runs from 6:30 am to dusk and golfers who play a round on the regulation course at Copper Point will see their green fee rate of $60 per person (18-holes, cart & use of driving range) donated to the ER campaign. The Charity Golf Day for anyone who just wants to get out and play a round of golf at their own leisure. The Lake Windermere Lions have set a fundraising goal of $10,000 for the day with hopes of funding six to seven emergency trauma carts for the unit.
