Cranbrook, BC … Tis the season to say it with flowers; so what better way to let someone know you appreciate and care about them then by sending a beautiful bouquet that also has a charitable purpose.

Evelyne Seminowich of Grower Direct shares, “When East Kootenay Foundation for Health approached us about creating a special bouquet to help raise money for the Kootenay ICE Matt Fraser Shoot for the Star fundraiser we didn’t hesitate. The idea has a lot of merit and being able to provide something special during the holiday season that also raises money for our hospital and our seniors we knew that we had to become involved.”

Grower Direct are getting behind the popular left-winger’s second year efforts by offering a beautifully presented European hand-tied bouquet using fresh cut flowers with a colour theme of the foundation’s Starlite Campaign for Excellence in Health Care. The key feature is an array of lime green and holiday coloured flowers that are sure to brighten even the darkest winter day.

The bouquets are being offered at a cost of $25 (taxes & delivery charges not included) with $5 from the sale of each bouquet being donated back to support Matt’s Shoot for the Star fundraiser. The Starlite Bouquet is a special initiative for the Cranbrook/Kimberley only and does not pertain to orders outside of the area.

For hockey fans wishing to order bouquets in January there is an option of having a special delivery by Matt and some ICE helpers on Thursday, January 27, 2011.

To place an order, simply contact Grower Direct at 250 426.6006 or toll-free 1-800-892-3493 and ask for the Starlite Bouquet.

Last year Matt’s efforts focused on raising $5,000 to light one star; however in the end the generosity of hockey fans, some fundraising initiatives by Matt with his teammates and various community groups, the Shoot for the Star fundraiser realized over $14,900 which lit the sky with two stars and almost three. As Matt approaches his last year with the Kootenay ICE, he wants to say thanks to all those who helped him reach last year’s goal by asking for your support once again to raise another $5,000 to light a star in support of seniors programs in the region.
