Pink Garden Tea $500 Gift for Creston ER & Pediatrics

Submitted by EKFH on 02-10-2014

Creston, BC… Just imagine sitting in a beautiful garden surrounded by flowers and gorgeous scenery with the scents of freshly baked scones and teas brewing filling your senses. You may think it is imagination when in fact this is exactly what takes place annually in the garden of Debbie Graham as she and her team of tea fanciers welcome you to the Pink Garden Tea.

The Pink Garden Tea took place earlier this summer (July 19) and proceeds from the event earmarked to support women in the valley.

The grounds are exceptional and the hospitality even more so. Those in attendance came with anticipation of enjoying teas of all kinds while knowing they are making a difference in the lives of other women.

The tea also featured the sale of items including tea cup painting prints and gift cards by the talented Laura Leeder and scarves, blankets and afghans lovingly made by Linda Panchyshyn.

As the final drop of tea was poured and the unity of women celebrated, the Pink Garden Tea was able to generously donate $500 to East Kootenay Foundation for Health for the Creston Hospital. The funds have been directed to the purchase of a pediatric crash cart ($4,000) for the emergency department.

Third party fundraisers of all kinds have an impact and benefit for health care in the community and for the region. If you’re interested in creating your own event please contact Donna Grainger, Executive Director at East Kootenay Foundation for Health – phone: 250 489-6481 or toll-free 1-877-489-6481.

L-R: Donna Grainger (EKFH) accepts proceeds from the Pink Garden Tea’s Debbie Graham with Chris Ondrik (Creston Hospital Site Manager), Linda Panchyshyn, Shirley Mercier (Health Service Administrator – Creston/Fernie) , Sheilah Moore (EKFH) and Laura Leeder.
