Timber Hitch and Rustic Hutch fundraiser collected $7000 in donations for East Kootenay NICU

Brenda and Todd Bannister, owners of the Timber Hitch & Rustic Hutch in Marysville, collected $7000 towards East Kootenay Foundation for Health’s (EKFHs) Warm Embrace Campaign during their December 2023 fundraiser.

This fundraiser included a gift basket of items from local businesses that was worth $1200. Everyone who made a donation towards a Warm Embrace at the Rustic Hutch from December 1-22 had their name entered in the basket draw. Brenda Wilson was the lucky winner of the basket draw.

Brenda and Todd have previously organized fundraisers in support of Angel Flight East Kootenay and the Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank.  This time they were proud to support a Warm Embrace because they know the difference having a NICU located at East Kootenay Regional Hospital will make for the region. Brenda said, “our family twice experienced having our little ones being medivaced to larger centres due to complications at birth. We know the stress it puts on parents and family members being away from home”.

EKFH wants to thank Brenda and Todd for their hard work in organizing the fundraiser and who entered with a donation. Everyone’s efforts help support health care across the East Kootenay to make projects like the NICU a reality. We could not do it without you!
