Shoppers Drug Marts donate additional $1,453 for Mammography

Submitted by EKFH on 04-02-2013 Cranbrook/Kimberley, BC…. Shoppers Drug Mart Associate Owners Jeannie Ewasiuk (Cranbrook) and Allan Yee (Kimberley) were thrilled to present East Kootenay Foundation for Health with an additional $1,453 for the digital stereotactic mammography unit. The two franchise owners had made an initial $5,000 gift in June 2012.

The current gift was a result of donations made to local Shoppers Drug Mart Tree of Life Campaign that helps elevate the vital importance of women’s health.

The digital stereotactic mammography unit has arrived at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital and is in the completion stage of installation. Training and some test screenings will be done over the next couple of days and regular screening appointments will begin the week of February 12.

The East Kootenay Foundation for Health will be hosting a public open house on Thursday, March 7 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm as a celebration of thanks for all those who generously gave to the A Clear View campaign.
